At that time it seemed to me as a grand gesture, showing great appreciation for my sister, and I was happy for her, but at the same time I wanted to also be able to realize something as  great as this.

To this day, I can vividly remember that moment , which was of maximum intensity for me at that time. Seeing the joy and delight in my parent’s eyes, and out of a childish ambition I decided to do the same or even better than my sister.

Thus , once I started the first grade I took  extracurricular classes of art for children, where I have studied ceramics and painting. Then I went on to study at the high-school of fine arts, where I began to understand the true beauty and complexity of sculpture, which as time went by grew on me and became more and more an integral part of myself.

During my Undergraduate and  Masters studies, I had the great honor of learning a lot about sculpture, from a great man, a great sculptor, an exemplary professor and a true role model for me, mister Peter Jecsa, whom unfortunately is no longer with us. I cherish the memories of our many interesting and constructive discussions, and of our last one, when he asked me to promise that I will never quit sculpting no matter what, and so I did.

Today holding dear to his memory, with the constant desire of making my parents happy and proud, and hoping to bring joy to my onlookers hearts, I keep true to my promise and continue to sculpt, offering at the same times a tiny peace of my being through each of my works, sculptures that I make with an open heart and without which I would not be the same person that I am today.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_empty_space height=”” el_class=”xtd-spacer”][vc_empty_space height=”” el_class=”xtd-spacer”][vc_empty_space height=”” el_class=”xtd-spacer”][vc_empty_space height=”” el_class=”xtd-spacer”][vc_empty_space height=”” el_class=”xtd-spacer”][vc_empty_space height=”” el_class=”xtd-spacer”][vc_column_text]DNA

Size: 16x36x8 cm

Technique: whittle

The work entitled “DNA” was conceived in opposition to “Creation of mankind” and it represents the microscopic world of human life from a scientific point of view. The play of shapes and voids, reminiscent of a DNA strand, create a compositional planimetric variety while the reddish patina highlights the carnal aspect of the human beings. The work, being of a smaller scale, is adequate in any kind of interior space, making for an excellent point of interest.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][xtender_carousel_mini autoplay_speed=”8000″ hover=”yes” loop=”yes” el_css=””][vc_single_image image=”1075″ img_size=”large”][/xtender_carousel_mini][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”35″ content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”2/3″][xtender_carousel_mini autoplay_speed=”8000″ hover=”yes” loop=”yes” el_css=””][vc_single_image image=”1076″ img_size=”large”][/xtender_carousel_mini][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-1 vc_col-lg-3″][vc_column_text]

Neuropeptides
Size: 30x5x10 cm

Technique: whittle

Using as inspiration the scientific studies which show that our true nature is a field of immaterial intelligence and pure consciousness from which thoughts feelings and emotions emerge by means of cerebral inter-cellular communication with the help of chemical substances which are known as “neuropeptides”. I conceived this sculpture, thinking of immortalizing this very process of inter-cellular communication. Perceived as a macro photography, with the main subject being the neuropeptides, the sculptural composition between cells which tends to gradually swallow up the entire pre-established volume. The relation between full and empty, which is visibly disproportioned, confer a certain unity to the many shapes that are uneven in form and size, and which were intentionally done as such in association with the diversity of the many potential thoughts.

The work entitled simply “Relantionship”, conveys in a unique way the emotional bonding-hence the knot- that occurs between two pleople, where the two characters, represented with simple geometrical shapes, create a strong tie between them.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][xtender_carousel_mini autoplay_speed=”8000″ hover=”yes” loop=”yes” el_css=””][vc_single_image image=”1077″ img_size=”large”][/xtender_carousel_mini][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”35″ content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”1/3″ offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-1 vc_col-lg-3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_btn title=”See all products” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ffusionarts.ro%2Fshop%2F%3Fsearch%3D1%26pa_artist-name%3Dsoneriu-laura|||”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
