“Edward’s creations are part of the register of abstract painting, but what impressed me is the fact that besides the aesthetic component, his art also has a philosophical component, based on the concept of axis mundi. The Axis Mundi or Axis of the World is a vertical line that is said to be the intersection of all the religious and philosophical foundations of the world. It is the axis that unites all cultures, all religions and all our philosophies, of people. Axis Mundi – the energy released by each people, well preserved, waiting for the evolutionary axis of the present times to join it until it becomes an axis of the past. Axis Mundi – the ephemerality of life, a sinusoidal life, with good and bad, in which the roots suggested by Edward’s lines find their peace when they reach the top of the canvas. ” – Diana Boalcă
